Hey, y’all! This week is so crazy! I leave for my friend’s wedding Thursday and then I’m gone all weekend after that, and I come home Monday and leave Tuesday for Texas! I feel like I’ve been talking about this move forever and it’s finally here. With all of the crazy traveling, I’ve become a bit of a master at only packing the essentials for trips. This post may look familiar, I actually had already posted it last year, but with my site crashing in February it got lost to the internet black hole and I wanted to repost the best travel makeup I use! I’m going to add links to more updated products as well as the ones in the photo as well.
The Best Travel Makeup: Top 10 Picks
#1 A Mini Eyeshadow Palette With Your Go To Colors
I love having options, but traveling with a huge eyeshadow palette is not ideal for packing. I love finding smaller palettes with the main colors I use on a day to day basis. I love using this palette for travel. I tend to lean on darker looks for my day to day, so this is perfect.
#2 & #3 A Drugstore Bronzer & Highlight
I cannot stress the importance of going cheap when traveling. I have cracked so many powders when traveling and so now I only use cheaper stuff so I don’t have to worry. I love this $6 bronzer in shade Ready To Go. I don’t usually use blush and this has just a hint of pink in it which I love! The shade is definitely a dupe for this bronzer in shade Luminous Bronze Light but not as pigmented.
For highlight, the one I have photographed is not available anymore but I found a super similar $6 one here with really good reviews. The shade Radiant Lights is the closest to what I have.
#4 Makeup Brushes Just For Travel
I keep a second set of brushes in my travel makeup bag so that I don’t have to constantly move my brushes back and forth when traveling. I love these brushes and they’re super affordable! I have the eyeshadow set and the sculpting brush as well.
#5 A Tried And True Foundation
Vacation is never the time to start trying out new products. You want to be able to just slap it on and go and not worry about it. Since I’m usually outside more when I travel, I tend to stick with a foundation, tinted moisturizer, or CC cream that has SPF in it. My absolute favorite is this one in the shade Medium. I’ve also used this one in the shade Alaska [it was winter, don’t judge my paleness LOL] in the past and LOVED it as well. It’s lighter coverage.
#6 Liquid Liner
There’s nothing that makes a look come together quicker than adding some liquid liner to finish things off! I wear liquid liner every time I have makeup on. It makes eyeshadow look polished. It’s also great if you want to wear fake lashes to hide the lash line from your strip. I like having this one on hand when I travel since it’s on the cheaper end, but in my normal day to day I love this one because it’s waterproof [would be great for the beach!!].
#7 Concealer
Jet lag is just a natural part of travel, but we obvi still need to hide those dark circles. My absolute tried and true forever in love with concealer is this one in Light Sand. It’s basically the holy grail of beauty products.
#8 Travel Size Mascaras
My favorite time to test out new mascaras is on vacation! I always buy the travel size ones in the checkout line at Ulta and Sephora. That’s where I found this one. It’s such a good slap on and go mascara. It’s volumizing without being chunky.
#9 Setting Spray
If you read this post, you know I use tons of setting spray! Nothing makes a makeup look last longer than a few spritz’s of Fix+, but I also love using setting sprays with SPF when I’m on vacation. I recently have been trying this one, and it works really well but has a strong alcohol scent to it so be warned. I’ve also used this one in the past and liked it a lot! The reviews for it aren’t great but I had no issues.
