Hey, y’all! Eating healthy has always been something I really struggled with. I would be super good about it for a few weeks and always fall off the bandwagon [because burritos, duh]. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that I really was able to find a way to give my body what it needs and not be completely miserable all the time.
4 Tips To Eat Healthy and Enjoy It
Come From A Place Of Love
I know this sounds cheesy, but honestly it wasn’t until I started eating healthy to fuel my body instead of trying to fit into a certain size that I really was able to eat healthy consistently. It took a really long time to love my body, and I still have my days, but I think once you find that place it makes a huge difference. It’s not easy. It’s all about making a conscious decision every day to talk about yourself in a positive light instead of always finding the negative. Whenever I catch myself speaking negatively to myself, I make myself say three things I love about my body and it’s actually helped a lot!
Make Things Taste Better
Adding sauces to my healthy meals has made a HUGE difference in how much I enjoy them. I have talked about my favorite guacamole cups a ton on here and on Instagram. I add them to everything! Some of my other favorites are:
– Stubbs BBQ Sauce [low calorie and sugar]
– Bolthouse Farms Yogurt Based Blue Cheese Dressing
– Franks Red Hot
– Taco Bell Mild Taco Sauce
– Balsamic Vinegar [SO GOOD on Brussel sprouts]
I don’t think they’re all super clean ingredients, but I don’t use a lot and they make otherwise bland foods like chicken and vegetables bearable!
I can’t stress enough how much having a smoothie for breakfast has changed my eating. I used to be terrible at eating breakfast, and then I’d be starving at lunchtime and just eat whatever I could get to fastest. Now, I make a quick smoothie [recipe HERE] every morning and I get my greens in without even thinking about it, and it tastes so good!
Get Yourself Some Cute Dishes
Nothing makes me more enthusiastic about anything than making it cute. I was getting really bad about drinking water, and I just bought this super cute $6 water bottle and it made me excited about it again! I honestly don’t buy anything just for function. It also has to be cute or I probably won’t use it. I know it’s high maintenance, but least I know myself well enough to accept it haha.
