Hey, y’all! I’m so excited for today’s blog post because it’s a collaboration with Kara from Kara’s Cup Of Tea! We both love Disney and thought it would be perfect to get both of our perspectives on visiting Disneyland parks during peak season. Her post is all about Walt Disney World, and mine is about Disneyland! Check out her post out HERE and her Instagram for some awesome tips for that park as well!!
If you didn’t see my Insta stories a few days ago, I chatted about my love for Disneyland and how I’ve been a pass holder for 6 years. With this move to Texas, I’m letting my Disneyland pass expire and I’m so sad to not be living near my favorite place on the planet anymore. I have so many great memories and I plan on visiting the parks every time I get a chance to come back! I’ve already purchased a regular admission ticket to go one last time before I move to see the new land Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
I’m so excited that the Star Wars Land we’ve all been waiting for is finally here for summer, but with all of the buzz and excitement comes insane crowds! Because of that, I’ve rounded up my favorite ways for visiting Disneyland parks during the busiest time of year. These are the best tips I’ve used for the last six years to get the most out of my Disney visits!
5 Tips for Visiting Disneyland During Peak Season:
1) Plan Out Your Day Ahead Of Time
Someone once told me the best tip they ever got for vacations was to ask everyone what they wanted most from the trip beforehand and make sure that everyone got to do the main thing on their list. Planning ahead of time allows for everyone to be happy with their trip! The best way to do that is to ask everyone what the main attraction they want to go on is and try to accommodate everyone in your party’s wants to the best of your abilities. That way everyone has a great time! This also makes it so much easier to create a plan of what rides to hit during the day. When you have a list ahead of time it saves time and a lot of needless walking around.
2) Pay The Extra Money For The Max Pass
I know it’s not like me to say the opposite of the frugal thing to do, but honestly, the Max Pass has saved so much time for me! If you don’t know what the Max Pass is, it’s a $15 a day pass through the Disneyland App that allows you to obtain fast passes without going to the actual kiosks near the rides for one. You still are restricted to only getting one fast pass at a time for each person just like a regular fast pass. What I love is that I can pick a fast pass for my next ride while I’m in line for another ride still! It’s super convenient.
3) Eat When Everyone Else Isn’t
There is nothing worse than hitting the lunch or dinner rush at a Disney restaurant. I always try to eat at non-peak hours like 10:30 am and 3 pm. This saves so much time, and you’ll actually be able to find a seat in the dining areas without having to fight anyone off.
Another note on this is to always bring your own snacks and water bottle to the parks! It not only saves you so much money, but you’ll save time not having to stand in the snack kiosk lines!
4) Follow The Strollers
Everyone always laughs when I mention this tip, but it seriously works! If you’re trying to get through a heavily populated area, find the nearest stroller and follow behind them. Crowds naturally clear for strollers. Please just keep a little distance behind them though for personal space reasons, and just like don’t be a creeper about it. lol. If you have your own stroller with you even better! Be assertive and move through that crowd.
5) Be Patient
My last tip is pretty obvious. You’re going to the most popular theme park on the planet during the busiest time of year. Go into it knowing that you may not be able to get to everything you wanted to, and just enjoy the day! Perspective and a positive attitude go a long way for a successful trip to Disneyland!
