I’ve been wanting to do this post for a long time! My mom is the queen of buying random hair tools from Amazon. I honestly didn’t know this was a thing, but there’s a ton of quirky hair tools on there to try out! So I decided to go through my mom’s drawer and try them all out.
For reference, I have long, wavy, thin hair but a LOT of it. [I hope that makes sense. My actual strands of hair are thin, but I have a lot of hair that makes it look thick]
Here are the results:
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer
Okay, I HAD to start with my all-time favorite. This one is actually mine and I loved it so much I bought one for my mom. I love this thing. It gives a beautiful blow out in 20 minutes, and for my long hair that’s amazing! I’ve been using it since December about once a week, and so far the damage has been minimal. Just be careful and don’t pull too hard on your hair. That’s when the damage happens.
Automatic Curling Wand
This one is definitely different. I would say this one is for someone who’s still learning how to curl their hair correctly. You put just the end of your hair inside of the prongs and then press the arrow button of which way you want it to curl. Then it curls your hair for you! There are videos of how to do use it properly on the product page. It worked the way it should for me, but honestly, as someone who has curled their hair for years, I think it’s quicker for me to just use a wand.
Curling Iron Brush
The one my mom has of this isn’t on Amazon anymore, but I found one that is almost the exact same with great reviews. This is a wand that I would recommend for short hair. It can get tangled in your hair really easily if it’s long but it’s an awesome tool for short hair that’s hard to keep wrapped around a normal barrel.
Volumizing Hair Iron
I saved the quirkiest for last! I was really skeptical about this one. It’s kind of like a hair crimper but it’s for volumizing and a replacement for teasing your hair. So instead of getting your hair all tangled from teasing, you’re using heat to make your hair more volumized. The trick is to not do this to the top layer of your hair so it still looks smooth on the top. It worked so much better than I was expecting! It volumized really well. If you have flat hair, I think this would be a good investment if you tend to get a lot of breakage from teasing.
