Hey, Y’all! I have to be completely honest with you, this post was extremely hard to put together for me. I am completely out of my comfort zone on this one, but that’s why I knew I had to write it. My body image and my weight have been something I’ve fought with my whole life. I remember in middle school getting my first food diary to count calories. It’s never been a healthy relationship. I know I’m not the only one who’s had this problem, but this year I made a promise to myself that I would end the cycle.
When I first went to shoot this outfit, I felt like such a hypocrite doing a post in workout clothes. Like, who do I think I am some Instagram fitness chick!? Not even close. But then I realized that those girls are the exception. There’s nothing wrong with them, but they are not the average person. Us average girls need some more representation out there. We just want to work out and be healthy, but we still have cellulite! I’ve been curvy my whole life, and I used to hate my body for it. Now, I’m appreciating my body for everything that it does for me. I will never be a stick, thin blogger, and I hope I can be a relatable voice in the size double zero world of blogging. I’m a size 10, and I’m okay with that!
The Lowdown On All Things Workout Clothes
So for working out, I tend to have issues finding sports bras that are cute but also have actual support. I LOVE this bra because 1. it’s fluffin adorable and 2. it gives awesome support when I work out! Plus, I can’t say no to anything that has a bow on it. The only two things I spend real money on for working out are my leggings and sports bras. I don’t know about you, but the chub rub is real on these thighs. If I don’t have a good pair of leggings that stay up while I workout I get serious chafing on my legs. I know that’s super TMI, but I can’t be the only one this happens to! These leggings are my LIFESAVER. I have like 5 pairs, and I’ve been wearing this brand for years now. I love that they’re affordable, but also amazing quality. I also love Lilly Pulitzer leggings to work out in. I don’t suggest them for running because they tend to fall down a lot when I run, but I love them for BBG workouts! The prints are so cute, and you can’t get better quality. For tops, I look for anything that’s as cheap as possible. The way I look at it is I’m going to be gross and sweating in it anyway, so why spend a ton of money on it? I usually snag these super cute tops for cheap, or I get large tops from the boy’s section at TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack.
Health & Fitness Life Update
Anyways, I wanted to touch base with y’all about what I’ve been doing to stay healthy. This was supposed to be my one-month check-in after using the Sweat App this month, but unfortunately, I got extremely ill two weeks ago. So I’ve been off track with my workouts, and up until the middle of last week, I was eating mainly soup haha. I’ve started to become more aware of why my body reacts in the ways that it does now, though. Like I know I got sick from having one night a few weeks ago that I did not sleep. The next morning I instantly woke up with a cough, and that’s where it all started. I know a trigger for me to getting sick is always lack of sleep. So this week I’m making sure I get tons of sleep, and I’m eating healthier again. I plan on starting to workout again next week after I’m 100% back up and running, and I’ll let y’all know how it goes. The two weeks I did use the app, I was so sore and feeling strong! I’m going to start over again next week on BBG Beginner Week 1.
